Death in the Land of Encantos

08:00 am. I texted both my manager and team lead letting them know that I wasn't feeling well and won't be reporting for work. That was a lie.

10:00 am. I was on my way to Robinson's Galeria to watch Lav Diaz's 9-hour epic Death in the Land of Encantos.

10:45 am. I was 15 minute late for the 10:30am screening. I rushed to the ticket booth but was disappointed when the ticket lady informed me that they were experiencing technical difficulties. Dammit. So to pass the time I went to Bestsellers to get a copy of T3's October issue but changed my mind when I wasn't impressed with this month's features. I was tempted to buy Murakami's Norwegian Wood but found the 400+ price tag too expensive. Pagtiyagaan ko na lang yung ebook that I downloaded from the internet.

11:45 am. The movie has not started yet. There were still people sitting idly near the cinema's entrance. I decided to forego my plan to watch the movie. Sayang. I hope that doesn't happen when Lav Diaz's Melancholia gets shown in this year's Cinemanila.

12:15 pm. I went DVD hunting at Metrowalk which is a 15-minute walk from Galeria. I saw Jean-Luc Goddard's Breathless but chose to ignore it. I was more fouced on looking for Francois Truffaut's Stolen Kisses but I guess the copy I saw from months ago was gone. I then completely forgot about Breathless and bought After The Wedding instead which I missed to watch when it was shown in this year's CineEuropa at the Shangri La. I also bought 3 audio cds for my ipod collection (August Rush OST, Nelly's Brass Knuckles, and Sugarfree Live! with the Manila Symphony Orchestra).

(I'm beating myself in the head for not buying Goddard's Breathless after reading, awhile ago, of how great the movie is.)

01:15 pm. I ate lunch at McDonald's.

01:30 pm - present time. I took the bus, surfed the net, watched tv, and realized that I missed to watch TAR on Studio 23. Dammit!
