Happy Together

Mall of Asia Concert Grounds
Saturday, May 16, 2009
8:00 pm

That's the venue, date, and time of the Cook-Archuleta concert in Manila. Gates open at 5pm. And I will be there. I have my tickets. Two of them. One for me and another for a friend.

This is the second time that I will be attending a concert of an AI alumna. The first one was Elliot Yamin's. I missed Michael Johns' concert at Greenbelt due to a date that I could not get out of. Taylor Hicks also came but I didn't plan on going. I'm no fan. I rooted for McPhee, Yamin, and Daughtry. I think Hicks probably is the worst Idol winner ever.

Allow me to brag a little and post a snapshot of the tickets.

I hope the money I paid will be worth it the way Beyonce did when she sang and danced and swayed and gyrated at Fort Bonifacio in 2007.

I don't care too much how Archuleta would perform. He's too pop for my taste. I do have high hopes for Cook. He was my bet even before he catapulted to the front of the pack after a drastic makeover and singing Chris Cornell's version of the Michael Jackson classic Billie Jean. Does anyone remember how great he was when he sang Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer? Or in the semifinals when he made The Turtles' Happy Together and Lionel Richie's Hello sound like they were a new record?

Not one among the current AI batch could hold a candle to him. Not even Lambert who I think will be voted AI Season 8 champ.

I like Michael Johns; he's my favorite from last season.

Re: Taylor Hicks, there's something about him that ticks me off, ehehe.

I think Danny Gokey will win this year. I'm not a big fan, but many people seem to like him.

gillboard and duke > sana!

andy > johns, cook, and castro faves ko last year. this year si gokey pero i dont dig his song choices. si lambert hindi ko trip pag nag-rock. so dark-horse bet ko si allen. ikaw ba?

I like Adam Lambert, Alison Iraheta, and Kris Allen. Mejo nagsawa na ko kay Kris, so Adam and Alison na lang, ehehe. I like Allen's "Man in the Mirror." :-)

Naiirita ako kay Adam pag nagfa-falsetto siya. He keeps on doing it all the time, ehehehe. :p

andy > 'sawa' talaga ginamit mo na term. lol. lambert's falsetto is screechy. iraheta is great too but i don't think she'll win. i liked her last two performances though when she did not rock too much.
do you know by any chance what's this week's theme?

Movies yung theme this week. Mejo kinilabutan ako sa song choices ng ibang contestants, ehehe.

* Allison Iraheta - "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" (Aerosmith) from Armageddon
* Anoop Desai - "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" (Bryan Adams) from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
* Adam Lambert - "Born to Be Wild" (Steppenwolf) from Easy Rider
* Matt Giraud - "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?" (Bryan Adams) from Don Juan DeMarco
* Danny Gokey - "Endless Love" (Lionel Richie and Diana Ross) from Endless Love
* Kris Allen - "Falling Slowly" (Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová) from Once
* Lil Rounds - "The Rose" (Bette Midler) from The Rose

I like Allen's song choice. And Iraheta's too. Gokey's sucks. Still. Gggrrr...

Andy! I saw the episode na. Iraheta, Giraud, and Gokey impressed me. Yung iba walang kwenta. Hehe.

According to DialIdol si Gokey lang ang safe. Hmmm.. I hope Rounds get the boot.

Visual Velocity said...

No one will get the boot tonight. The judges saved someone. Two will be kicked out next week.

Sayang nga, dapat si Alexis na lang yun si-nave nila a couple of weeks back.

len > syempre. ipagtatanggol ni raft3r si misis.

Visual Velocity said...

Wait, are you trying to imply that Jolens and Charice Pempengco are jologs? Ehehehe, biro lang. :p

Bumibili na pala ako ng bootlegs na mga CD, ehehe. Ganda ng Perfect Symmetry ng Keane! Nakabili rin ako ng soundtrack ng Bourne Identity.

len said...

Hindi naman ako warmonger. Mabait yata ito. hehehe

Ang ganda kasi ng banat mo, hotter than three janets combined. Iyan tuloy binigyan ka ni Raft3r ng statistics ng misis niya... sa panaginip. nyahaha
